Shing Gung Temple Exhibits

Client: Chinese Historical and Cultural Project
This exhibit was planned and designed around the restoration of a Taoist
altar and the construction of a temple building using elements from the
original 1870s temple. It was a collaborative effort of the local community
group, the City of San Jose, and the design team. The museum exhibits
utilized a collection of everyday items, historical temple artifacts,
and photographs to interpret the lives, culture and history of the Chinese
in and around San Jose, California. The temple project has been on-going
for 16 years, with new exhibits phased in every few years.
