Adobe Park
Pacifica, California
Client: County of San Mateo, California
(ARG, Prime Consultant)
The oldest historic structure in San Mateo County is located in this small
park in Pacifica. The county was seeking ways to improve the park and
offer more interpretive value for visitors. Architectural Resources Group
(ARG), with Daniel Quan Design and landscape firm Royston Hanamoto Abbey
and Alley (RHAA,) were retained to prepare a new park master plan that
would respond to this request. Using interpretation as the primary driver
for the master plan, the team fashioned a new plan for the park that increased
usage of all areas of the park, respects the historic resources, provided
new interpretive opportunities, and improved safety and security of the
park.
